in january of 1977, i had an abortion. i was single and i could not afford to raise a child, nor was i emotionally ready for that responsibility.

as it turned out, my pregnancy was ectopic and had i not had access in california to reasonably priced health care and the option of abortion. i would have died. i was less than 12 weeks pregnant but the fallopian tube had burst and i nearly died, even though, i had good care for the time.
i have never had a moment of regret about my initial decision. i am truly frightened that women’s rights are being seriously compromised.

i am 1 in 3.
