july 20-august 24 the know your ix summer intensives are a great opportunity for young people to learn more about title ix, how to organize for change on their campus and in their state, and how to build a strong and successful campaign. participants will also gain hard skills on organizing tactics, 世界杯2022亚洲预选赛b组 and messaging, policy, digital organizing, and escalation tactics and leave the summer intensives with a year long campaign plan. the trainings will be held on tuesdays from 6:30pm est to 8:30pm est from july 20th-august 24th.

thursday, mar 18 4pm est in this first of our inaugural amaze-ing educator talks, mrs. susy andresen of mchenry school district 15 (mchenry, il) teaches us how she uses the amaze video "saying yes or no: what is a consent?" to help students learn the defining importance of consent in healthy relationships.

maternal mortality in d.c. and globally
jan 29, 2021 12:00 pm eastern time maternal mortality disproportionately impacts communities of color within the united states. how do the same factors that affect maternal mortality in d.c. also affect communities in the global south? the international youth leadership council facilitates this conversation between the young women's empowerment network (ywen) in namibia, imara (i'm a rad african) in comoros, dr. vuckovic, associate professor of public health at georgetown university, and dr. long-white, public and community health educator and lecturer at howard university. we will explore how social determinants of maternal health like race and disability play out in different contexts, how united states based funding can impact maternal mortality in the global south, and how young people can take action to improve maternal mortality in dc and globally.

jan 28, 2021 04:00 pm in eastern time as the national conversation on far-right terror evolves in the wake of the insurrection, young muslim organizers share how soft policing programs like "countering violent extremism" (cve) and "targeted violence & terrorism prevention" (tvtp) that claim to counter violent extremism actually harm black, brown, and muslim communities instead. through this workshop, hosted by the muslim youth leadership council and the muslim justice league, you can build an understanding of islamophobic programs like cve, see how they fit into broader systems of policing/incarceration, learn how they are harmful, and workshop ways to fight cve and surveillance in your community.
