at the time, i made very little money, worked overnight from 10pm to 6am, and i lived in a co-op with 15 roommates. i was not ready to provide for and care for a child. i have always wanted to have a baby of my own, so the decision to have an abortion was not an easy one, but this was not the life i wanted to bring a baby into. i was not ready. after my abortion, i felt pain, sadness, emptiness, and relief. i knew my decision was the right one. now i’m 29 and have completed a master’s degree and have obtained employment teaching sexuality education. i chose this career because i believe in every single person’s reproductive rights and justice. i would not have done this if i hadn’t been able to have an abortion. it was my choice and it was the right one.
