in many ways i am glad that my mother is no longer alive to see what has happened in the same state that, over forty years ago, gave me a second chance at life; the same state that killed george tiller and now forces women with anencephalic children to bear them. it would break her heart.

i recently have embarked on a journey toward openness (though not so open i’m ready to give up the relative anonymity of my nom de blog) :-) and sharing my story is the next step in that journey.

shortly after my husband and i met, i had surgery on my cervix, and was told by my gynecologist and several other doctors that i would have difficulty getting pregnant, and if i did get pregnant, i would have trouble carrying a child to term.
