sexual health education

we assist local education agencies (leas) to increase their capacity to implement sexual health education (she). the cdc defines she as a systematic approach informed by research and practices that emphasize planned, sequential learning across grade levels. she uses learning objectives, lessons, materials, and assessments that are medically accurate and age-developmentally-appropriate to help adolescents acquire the knowledge and skills to prevent hiv, other stds, and unintended pregnancy.

we support leas in three domains to address she:

      1. strengthen staff capacity
      2. increase student access to programs and services
      3. engage parent and community partners
sexual health services
  • we assist local education agencies (leas) to increase their capacity to support student access to key sexual health services (shs). this includes specific services like testing for stds, hiv testing, contraception, and condom provision.  as well, we support leas in creating adolescent-friendly clinical environments at their school-based health centers (sbhcs) and creating referral systems for accessing shs in the community.
  • we support leas in three domains to address shs:
    • strengthen staff capacity
    • increase student access to programs and services
    • engage parent and community partners

喀麦隆vs巴西波胆分析 will provide the following to all local education agencies and their partners:
  • resource materials
  • technical assistance by telephone and email
  • online training modules
  • school health equity listserv
  • interactive webinars
  • ongoing support and leadership coaching
resources, technical assistance, and training can be tailored based on interest and need.

advocates looks forward to working with all leas to develop in-depth partnerships to support their she and shs activities.
