i was 20-years old when i found out i was 5 weeks pregnant. i hadn’t been with the father very long, and while i was crazy about him, we weren’t ready to be parents, let alone parents together. i confided in a sorority sister that worked for planned parenthood and she, along with another sister, made all of the arrangements. she was so great the whole time – she took me to the clinic, held my hand through the procedure, and was with me in recovery. that was 10 years ago and to this day, i do not regret it. sure, it was difficult at first, but those feelings were outweighed by the feeling of knowing i wasn’t going to make life horrible for three people. i firmly believe in my choice and i am thankful for being able to make such a choice.
