i had an abortion when i was in college in the early 1990’s. at that age, many people are careless sexually, and i was one of them. there was no way that i was going to have a baby. i didn’t even consider about it. fortunately, planned parenthood understood, and referred me to a clinic that performed abortions. at the time, there were people picketing this clinic, due to the ‘upswing’ in the anti-woman movement. these people have no idea what women go through. fortunately, they weren’t there the day that i went, and the employees couldn’t have been nicer. there was no judgment, no shame. they knew that these things happen. it was the best decision i have ever made. ever since, i have been an advocate for women’s health, and i am disgusted by the recent misogyny i have seen.
