i was told by my doctor that i would have a hard time conceiving, then got quickly pregnant when i was 25. neither of us were prepared for this, i was in school, and so had an extraction at an early time. afterwards both my parents told me that my mother had had an abortion a year before conceiving me. and my father added that he had supported himself through medical school by providing abortions. he was a conservative thinker but always believed that abortion should be legal, safely done by skilled practitioner and accessible, having seen many illegal ones gone wrong. i continue to believe that this is a decision to be made between a woman and her doctor.
