i was a young woman in my twenties in a complicated relationship, when i found that i was pregnant. it was 1976, so thankfully i had choices. on a visit back east, i had an early procedure that did not completely work (did i have twins??) but i was clueless – so i went back out west, where i did not have a doctor. planned parenthood helped me figure out that i was still pregnant and counseled me on my choices. i was fortunate to be able to obtain a safe and legal abortion. i have no regrets. i was not able or ready to raise a child as a single mom at that time, and it was clear that my boyfriend was also not ready.
