i had an abortion when i was 19 years old while i was in college. i was on a full-ride athletic scholarship to the school of my dreams. i got pregnant with my boyfriend my sophomore year. if i continued with my pregnancy, i would have lost my scholarship and education – at 52 k/year i would not have been able to afford to continue.

my then-boyfriend and i are still great friends and would have made great co-parents. however, i do not regret my abortion. the freedom to terminate my pregnancy allowed me to finish my education and make a life for myself. i am in a much better place now and when the time is right, i will be a great mother.
