it was 1991 and i was dating a man but it wasn’t serious. i was on the pill but got a urinary tract infection so i went to my doctor to get it treated. my doctor put me on antibiotics but failed to tell me that they would make the pill ineffective. well i got pregnant! i thought about the man i was dating (he was nowhere near ready to help raise a child, he could barely keep himself together) and decided that i wasn’t ready to have this baby on my own so i had an abortion. my mom took me to the local clinic and afterwards took me home and took care of me for the next day or two. i don’t regret my decision at all. i’m glad that i had that option and to this day am passionate about keeping abortion safe and legal for all of my sisters!
