i had an abortion 2 years ago. i was lucky to detect it very early on and even more lucky to live in a state (ny) where i was able to easily make an appointment at my local planned parenthood. because i caught it so early, i was able to have a medical abortion.

i took one pill at the clinic and one at home the next day. it was an unpleasant afternoon, and i felt the physical effects for a few weeks afterwards, but i have always felt good about my decision. my then boyfriend, now fiance, is going back to school in the fall to finish his bachelor’s degree. it will be a big financial burden. if we had a baby right now, i doubt he would be able to further his education and career in this way.
