the woman who held my hand while the procedure was happening was the first person to be nice to me since i’d found out i was pregnant.

afterwards i could barely speak, but i uttered the words – are you sure? are you sure it’s gone?

in canada the services are free.

my experience was also very private and the women i dealt with, compassionate. i have never been so thankful for our health care system, as i was that day.
