i was 22 years old and a senior in college when my boyfriend left me for another girl. i became very depressed and didn’t find out i was pregnant until two months later. i was angry at myself for being so irresponsible, at my ex-boyfriend for the way he treated me, and at my family because i knew if i’d told them about the pregnancy, they’d have made me carry it to term.

by the time i raised enough money for the procedure, i was too far along to have it done in my state and had to travel to alabama. the procedure was very painful and drawn out over three days. i was fortunate enough to have a friend come with me. i am extremely thankful for the doctor and staff at the clinic. it’s now been over a year since my abortion and i have began a successful career and life on my own. i know my decision was right for me.
