why do you fight for sex ed? karina

in honor of #sexedforall month, we asked young people: why do you fight for sex education?

here’s what karina, young womxn of color for reproductive justice leadership council, had to say:

“i fight for sex education for all because i want the next generation to be educated on an important topic that is taken for granted. growing up in a time when saying the word “sex” means to be quiet and not talk about it, i had to educate myself. sex and sexuality should be a topic children are comfortable talking with their parents. i want my children to be educated about their sexuality and why sex is important. children need to be nourished with knowledge about the impact of sex has in our lives.”
